The “male sex hormone,” testosterone, improves bone density while supporting lean muscle mass, metabolism, and mental clarity. For women, this hormone can also improve libido, regulate mood, and support skin structure.
Testosterone plays a larger role in the male reproductive system, affecting hair growth, libido, and erectile function. Additionally, testosterone stimulates the production of red blood cells, which carry oxygen to repair muscles and organs.
Symptoms of low testosterone include:
- Erectile dysfunction (ED)
- Anorgasmia (the inability to orgasm)
- Gynecomastia (enlarged male breast tissue)
- Loss of armpit or pubic hair
- Decreased muscle strength and mass
- Fatigue, depressed mood, or low libido
